Taipei, Taiwan
Many successes. I like being able to say that.
A short list, I think with some repetitions, but I want to affirm the purchases.
Pocket knife (I have used it many times now!), moon blocks, calligraphy brush and ink, tea pot and tea, index cards.
Extended my stay at the place here through late April – easy off my mind.
Went on a bike ride in a new direction with a new person, did some work with her – translating poetic Chinese real estate listings as close as possible into English. At a new coffee joint, a hipster place with a basement, Japanese noodles, at most of a heart shape in foam over a latte.
Tomb sweeping, without the sweeping, so learning much culture on the fly, up the mountain, behind the amber glass, through the tables of food – the favorites for the ghosts.
A sushi place where a miniature mechanical train brings out your food, little plate by little plate.
A fortune teller with numbers, squiggles, a container of rice and three bowls.
A tarot deck in a pink box. Many things to think about.
Cheap sunglasses!
An underground store with clothes – I want them all, but they’re trendy, a little expensive. I found a shirt – one size fits all, that reminds me of the 90s. I will go back for pants.
Other cheap shirts – 3 for $500 (in New Taiwan Dollars). Some color – it’s time to emerge, maybe embrace some of the visual splashes I get such a kick out of on the streets.
Back to the tai chi store, and got another nice shirt, something new to wear in upcoming videos – one tomorrow.
Website plugins, to ease the pain of coding. Improvements.
Notes in a book, small and large epiphanies. Almost too many things to keep up with.
New roommates.
Time is floating by.
